The Roi family has been perfecting olive products for four generations since 1900, offering a wide variety of the best possible products from their family-owned olive mill. They strive to highlight high-quality Italian and Taggiasca olives in their oils, sauces, and special creations, tracing their history back to 1900 when Giuseppe, the great-grandfather "Pepin u Roi," built the first oil mill using the wood and stones of the valley. Today, Paolo continues the family's passion and dedication at the oil mill.
What makes Roi's products unique is their 42 hectares of olive groves in the Argentina valley, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, which give their oils unique characteristics linked to the land. Olives have been farmed here since Roman times. Roi's oil is derived exclusively from the first cold pressing of the olives, using the newest technology without heating the paste or adding hot water, to preserve the oil's greater bio-nutrition, organoleptic superiority, and better preservation.
Producing Ligurian quality oil is an art, and much of the merit is attributed to the variety of plants in the territory that have low acidity, a fruity aroma, and a sweet sensation, enhancing the oil without being intrusive.
Roi is a small, family-owned EVOO producer that has been operating for four generations. The olive grove and the flavor of the olives are influenced by the surrounding Mediterranean woodland and chestnut trees, the sea, and wild herbs. The olive mill includes the traditional mill with a granite millstone and two presses, as well as a newly designed mill with a continuous cycle and cold extraction.
Roi's estate is located in one of the most unique corners of Italy, where olive trees grow on terraced land in very steep hills and cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The climate and sea influence the oil's taste and aroma. The Monocultivar Taggiasca is obtained from the first cold pressing, using a granite millstone.
The olives come exclusively from selected and certified suppliers, who attest that the origin of the raw material is Italian (100% Ligurian) and Cultivar Taggiasca. The Imperia Chamber of Commerce samples, analyzes, and evaluates the oil, and it is certified as Friend of the Earth (FOE). The oil is also BIO recognized and approved by the FDA.
Roi offers a range of high-quality extra virgin olive oils, including Cultivar Ogliarola - Taggiasca, Mosto, and Carte Noire (Taggiasca), as well as a Fresh Ligurian Basil Pesto. These products have received excellent customer reviews and are perfect for a variety of culinary uses, from finishing dishes and marinades to dips and toppings.
